What SST is
SST® stands for Successful Selling to Type (www.tildensst.com) and was founded by Dr. Arnold Tilden in 1994. He copyrighted the materials the following year and registered the trademark in the US in 1998. In 2000, Dr. Tilden authored the book, SST®: Successful Selling to Type. The second edition of SST® is now in print.
SST® has been delivered to diverse industries including: accounting, advertising, architecture, banking, consulting, engineering, information technology, insurance, law, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, and universities.
In addition to the United States, SST® has been delivered around the globe to representatives from the following countries: Bahrain, Belgium, Brazil, England, France, Greece, Hong Kong, India, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and Ukraine.
Client Results
We had a client who had just engaged a major consulting firm to provide sales training. Not surprisingly, the vice president of sales was very disappointed in the results. Sales remained flat after training. Nevertheless, he remained convinced that his sales force needed better selling skills.
Still bruised by his wasted investment in previous sales training, he agreed only to train just fifteen salespeople in SST®. He would then compare their performance against the rest of the sales team for the same three month business quarter.
The results were unequivocal. The salespeople who were taught how to unlock the secrets of client psychology sold a whopping 488% more than they did the year prior for the same time period. For the group not trained in SST®, sales went down.
